Nominate a Professional of the Year

Colorado CCBD is seeking nominations for its Cessna Teacher of the Year. Colorado has many outstanding service providers and teachers of students with Emotional Disabilities and we want to give you the opportunity to nominate someone for this honor.

Who may be nominated? Any professional who teaches or provides mental health support to students with Emotional Disabilities are eligible for this award. The award includes recognition at the Affective Needs conference in January, one year’s dues for CCBD, and an honorarium. In addition, it includes a personalized breakout session for the follow year’s Affective Needs Conference so that the recipient may share their expertise with the field. The nominee does NOT need to be a current CEC or CCBD member.

Nominate a Visionary

Colorado CCBD is seeking nominations for its Jackie Borock Visionary Award. This award is given to teachers or service providers who work with students with EBD, in their first five years of service, who demonstrate outstanding vision and purpose. Honorees receive a $500 award, a membership to CCBD, and their name is inscribed on a plaque with all previous winners. The nominee does NOT need to be a current CEC or CCBD member.

Submit a Presentation Proposal

The Colorado Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders and the Colorado Department of Education is sponsoring a one-day skill-building and awareness-level conference on meeting the affective needs of students.  This conference will be beneficial for any professional who works with students with significant affective needs in a school environment, as well as those who are preparing for a career in this field.  The conference will focus on the social, emotional and behavioral needs of all students, with a strong focus on “Tier 2 and Tier 3” information and interventions.
